Intruder slaps worshipper and tries to break into sacristy where women and children sheltered, Boa Vista

On Wednesday, 14 October 2026, a 36-year-old man identified by his initials H.D.S.C. entered the Igreja Matriz Nossa Senhora do Carmo in central Boa Vista, Roraima, cursing at those present, and slapped a 26-year-old man in the face. He then tried to force his way into the sacristy, where frightened women and children had locked themselves in. Military Police found him inside the church visibly agitated; he disobeyed orders, insulted the officers, claimed to be related to a senior officer, and had to be restrained and handcuffed, continuing to threaten and kick the patrol car. He was taken to the Civil Police flagrante center to answer for bodily injury, contempt, disobedience, resistance and attempted influence peddling.
