Botroseya chapel bombing

A suicide bomber detonated inside a chapel adjoining St. Mark’s Cathedral, the Coptic papal seat. Twenty-nine people were killed, most of them women and children at a Sunday service.

ISIS claimed the bombing. It was the deadliest attack on Copts in Cairo in years and preceded the 2017 Palm Sunday church bombings.
