Pro-Russian attackers throw stones at Holy Trinity Parish gate in Bykivnia

On September 2, 2026, unidentified men attacked the Holy Trinity Parish of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Bykivnia, Kyiv. They kicked the fence, threw stones at the gate, and tried to enter the grounds while making threats and shouting “Akhmat is power!” and pro-Russian slogans. Police and SBU responded; two participants were detained (parish said the most aggressive agitator was later released). The parish had transferred from the UOC-MP to the OCU about five months earlier.
