OIDAC Europe recorded 33 arson attacks on German churches in its 2025 reporting year — about a third of all church arsons logged in Europe, and roughly double the previous year’s German total.

The German bishops’ conference warned that ‘all taboos have been broken’ regarding church vandalism. Most individual cases caused property damage rather than casualties.
