On the evening of August 11, 2026, two young people were caught inside Église Saint-Médard in Grandpré, Ardennes, after tearing a Bible, ripping doors from the confessional and sacristy, damaging the organ and a statue of St. Joan of Arc, breaking a stool, damaging a boiler sensor, and emptying a fire extinguisher. The town said one family acknowledged the facts and it would seek repair costs plus a cleanup day.
