Woman breaks into tabernacle and scatters consecrated hosts at Ipís parish

On the evening of Thursday, 8 October 2026, after 6 p.m., a woman who had entered the Parroquia Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles in Ipís de Goicoechea and knelt to pray became agitated, opened the tabernacle, ate some consecrated hosts and left others scattered on the floor, according to parish priest Ronald Fallas Barboza. Two patrols and five Fuerza Pública officers intervened to detain her. Masses were suspended until a rite of reconciliation.
