After a blasphemy accusation against two Christian men, a mob burned at least 22 churches and more than 80 Christian homes in Punjab’s Jaranwala tehsil. No deaths were recorded in the main violence; families fled.
Police later arrested hundreds. Human-rights groups say Pakistan’s blasphemy law remains a recurring trigger for collective punishment of Christian neighborhoods.
