Twin bombings at Jolo Cathedral

Two bombs exploded at the cathedral — one inside during Mass, one outside as troops responded. Twenty civilians and security personnel were killed and more than 100 wounded.

Abu Sayyaf and Jamaah Ansharut Daulah were blamed. The attack came a week after the Bangsamoro autonomy plebiscite.
