Churches destroyed in Jwak Maitumbi raid

On August 12, 2026, militants arrived in large numbers at Jwak Maitumbi in Mangu LGA, Plateau State, chanting “Allahu Akbar” and shooting into the air. Open Doors said the raid could not be stopped. Homes, livelihoods, and churches were destroyed. No deaths were reported that day.

Attacks the same day on nearby Murish and Mairana were thwarted by security forces. A separate house-to-house killing in BinPer Bwai on August 17–18 is not filed here as a church-building attack.
