Teen shot dead in parking lot of El Faro Assembly of God, LaBelle

On Monday night, 12 October 2026, at about 7:40 p.m., Hendry County deputies responded to El Faro Assembly of God on Bryan Avenue in LaBelle, Florida, and found 18-year-old Angel CuaCua-Vasquez lying in the church parking lot while a friend performed CPR; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses said an argument and fight with the driver of a truck preceded the gunfire, and the shooter also fired at three friends as they ran.
