Shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church

After shooting a Kentucky State Police trooper near Blue Grass Airport, a gunman carjacked a vehicle and opened fire at Richmond Road Baptist Church during Sunday gathering. Beverly Gumm, 72, and her daughter Christina Combs were killed. Two men, including the pastor, were wounded. Police shot the gunman dead.

Lexington police said the suspect may have had a connection to people at the church. It was one of three U.S. house-of-worship active-shooter attacks in 2025.
