Overnight July 31–August 1, 2026, intruders forced the Cáritas gate and multiple doors at Santa Margarita María de Alacoque parish in Madrid’s Latina district, opened both tabernacles, and threw a relic of the parish’s patron saint on the floor. The Blessed Sacrament had been removed for the August closure. Offering-box cash, tools, and paint were stolen. Abogados Cristianos later filed a complaint alleging robbery and profanation.
