On August 28–29, 2026, suspected Allied Democratic Forces fighters attacked villages in Mambasa territory, Ituri. Civil-society coordinator Peresi Muhindo said a hospital, a church, and houses were burned. Sources did not name the parish. Twenty-one civilians were killed in Mabakuha and Amani; that tally is village deaths, not a church-floor count.
