On the evening of Wednesday, 7 October 2026, vandals damaged the small Cappella di San Pio in the Isolaverde and Città Giardino district of Margherita di Savoia. Parish priest Don Michele Schiavone of the church of San Pio said the picture and the statue of Our Lady were not damaged, that earlier acts of vandalism had occurred over the years, and that the chapel would be cleaned with help from a local bikers' association.
