Capilla Santa Teresa de Los Andes vandalized in Rahue Alto, Osorno

Reported on Sunday, 27 September 2026: unknown persons entered Capilla Santa Teresa de Los Andes at San Agustín 755, Villa Sofía, Rahue Alto, Osorno (Los Lagos, Chile), in the parish of San Leopoldo Mandic. The door was removed and its hinges stripped, the lock was smashed, glass on the sacristy side was broken, and the tabernacle (sagrario) was opened and the hosts taken. Community treasurer Claudio Coronado estimated damages over 1.5 million Chilean pesos. The chapel had been vandalized before; metal grilles and cameras had been installed.
