Two sacred artworks were stolen from the Church of San Pablo (Iglesia de San Pablo) in Valladolid, Spain. The prior suspects the pieces were taken during an evening Mass on September 10, 2026, while parishioners faced the altar. Missing items: a small Station of the Cross depicting Jesus’s second fall with a silver relief, and a 17th-century copy of an Ecce Homo by Renaissance painter Luis de Morales. A sacristan told El Diario de Valladolid that witnesses saw a man leaving with a large plastic bag. Church officials first reported the Ecce Homo missing, then discovered the Station of the Cross was also gone. The Archbishopric of Valladolid instructed churches in the archdiocese to use extreme precautions and surveillance and to keep photographed inventories.
